On December 10th I photographed Sweet Release at their last gig of 2016. The band had played at a number of venues during the year and had arranged the gig at the Nelson's Quarterdeck pub in Warrington as a thank you to the fans that had travelled to watch them during the year.
Formed in summer 2015, they are named after a line in an unreleased demo by Oasis called See The Sun and their music is inspired by The Doors, The Stone Roses, Kinks, The Troggs, Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
They are spending time at Prism Recording Studios in Stoke On Trent with Sony Award-winner Shaun Lowe this month, to record their first EP which is set to be released in February, and are hoping for a record deal after playing at a scouting event at the Night and Day cafe in Manchester in November.
